TalentTuner CCPA Privacy Notice for California Residents

This California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Privacy Notice supplements the information contained in TalentTuner's Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("consumers" or "you").
1. Introduction
TalentTuner is an unincorporated resume optimization platform operated by an individual owner based in Toronto, Canada. This notice provides California residents with specific information about their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and how TalentTuner handles personal information.
As a resume optimization platform, we process resume content, job descriptions, and usage data to help job seekers improve their application materials. We are committed to respecting your privacy rights while providing our services.

Within the past 12 months, TalentTuner has collected the following categories of personal information from consumers:

- Direct interactions: Information you provide when creating an account, uploading resumes, entering job descriptions, purchasing subscriptions, or communicating with us
- Automated technologies: Information collected automatically through cookies, server logs, and similar technologies when you use our platform
- Third-party services: Information from authentication providers (if you log in with Google) and payment processors (Stripe)
4. Use of Personal Information
We use the personal information we collect for the business and commercial purposes described in our Privacy Policy, including:
- Providing and improving TalentTuner's resume optimization services
- Processing and analyzing resumes and job descriptions
- Generating match scores, keyword recommendations, and improvement suggestions

6. Sale of Personal Information
TalentTuner does not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do share certain information with third-party analytics and advertising partners (like Google Analytics, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn) to improve our services and marketing, which some may consider a "sale" under CCPA's broad definition.

7. Your Rights Under the CCPA
The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise them.
7.1 Right to Know and Access
You have the right to request that TalentTuner disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months, including: - Categories of personal information collected - Categories of sources from which personal information is collected - Business or commercial purpose for collecting personal information - Categories of third parties with whom we share personal information - Specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
7.2 Right to Delete
You have the right to request that TalentTuner delete any of your personal information we have collected and retained, subject to certain exceptions. These exceptions include when the information is necessary to: - Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected - Provide a good or service you requested - Detect security incidents and protect against fraud - Debug to identify and repair errors - Comply with legal obligations - Enable solely internal uses aligned with your expectations
7.3 Right to Non-Discrimination
You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of your CCPA rights. TalentTuner will not: - Deny you goods or services - Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services - Provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services - Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services
However, we may offer you certain financial incentives permitted by the CCPA that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels, such as discounted subscription rates. Any CCPA-permitted financial incentive we offer will reasonably relate to your personal information's value and contain written terms that describe the program's material aspects.
8. How to Exercise Your Rights
8.1 Submitting Requests
To exercise your rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by: - Emailing us at: [email protected] with the subject line "CCPA Request"
8.2 Verification Process
Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.
To verify your identity, we may ask you to provide additional information. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor's identity or authority to make the request.
For access and deletion requests, we will: 1. Verify your identity by matching at least two data points you provide with information we have on file 2. Confirm your request by sending a verification email to the address associated with your account 3. Process your request within the timeframes required by the CCPA
8.3 Response Timing and Format
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the request's receipt. If applicable, our response will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
9. Additional California Privacy Rights
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. TalentTuner does not currently share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
10. Changes to This Notice
TalentTuner reserves the right to amend this privacy notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to this privacy notice, we will post the updated notice on our website and update the effective date. Your continued use of our website following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
